Kahama Co-operative Union Limited (KACU Ltd) with registration number AFFF-SHY-KMC-TC-2022-7 was incorporated in Tanzania in 1994 under the Co-operative Societies Act No.15 of 1991. KACU Ltd is currently operating under the Co-operative Societies Act No. 06 of 2013. The Union is domiciled and operates in Kahama District in Shinyanga Region.
Currently the Union has grown into a strong and autonomous organization hence the need to strengthen its staffing level by recruiting qualified personnel and thus seeks to recruit qualified, dedicated self- motivated and hardworking Tanzanians to fill the following available vacancies:-
- PROCUREMENT OFFICER (1 Vacancy)
Nature and scope
The successful candidate will report to the General Manager. He/She will be responsible for procurement or supply chain, and strong skills in negotiation, contract management, and data analysis. Key knowledge includes supply chain management principles, procurement software, and an understanding of legal and financial aspects of purchasing.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers for goods and services.
- Prepare the Annual Procurement Plan of the Entity
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to secure the best deals.
- Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Maintain and update a list of approved suppliers and their performance records.
- Plan annual budgets and forecast procurement costs.
- Identify and implement opportunities to reduce costs and achieve cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor expenditure and manage the budget for purchased items.
- Understand and enforce the organization’s procurement policies and procedures.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring technical details and terms are clear.
- Monitor the procurement process, including tenders, to ensure it aligns with organizational goals.
- Ensure that purchased items meet industry standards and organizational requirements.
- Coordinate the logistics for on-time delivery of materials and services.
- Manage inventories and maintain accurate purchasing and pricing records.
- Perform risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
- Ensure that all purchases are made in a timely, cost-effective, and ethical manner.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments to understand their procurement needs.
- Build strong relationships with various stakeholders to ensure organizational objectives are met.
- Compile and maintain all necessary supporting documents for purchases.
- Keep accurate purchase and pricing records for internal use.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics Management, Procurement and Supplies Management, Material Management.
- Must be registered with the Procurement and Supply Professionals board (PSPTB).
- Three (03) years of professional experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related role is often required.
- MARKETING OFFICER (1 Vacancy)
Nature and scope
The successful candidate will report to the Operations Manager. He/She will be responsible for develops and implements marketing plans, conducts market research, creates and manages campaigns across various channels, monitors performance, manages budgets, and collaborates with cross-functional teams and external partners to achieve company goals and promote products or services.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage marketing and advertising campaigns across different platforms like social media, email, print, and digital advertising.
- Conduct thorough research to understand customer needs, preferences, and market trends, and analyze competitor activities and market positioning.
- Track and analyze key performance metrics (KPIs) for campaigns, such as lead generation and return on investment (ROI), and use this data to optimize strategies and improve effectiveness.
- Develop and manage marketing budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness and proper expenditure for all marketing activities.
- Collaborate with design teams to create compelling marketing materials and ensure brand consistency across all marketing channels and communications.
- Work closely with sales, product development, and other teams to align marketing efforts with overall business goals and support sales strategies.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate promotional events, trade shows, and exhibitions to represent the company and promote its offerings.
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with customers, suppliers, media, and industry influencers through effective communication and networking.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relation and Marketing, Commerce or Business Administration majoring in Marketing, Entrepreneurship or a related field.
- Two (2) years of proven work experience in marketing with a track record of successful campaigns.
- FACTORY MANAGER (1 Vacancy)
Nature and scope
The successful candidate will report to the General Manager. He/She will be responsible for operating and supervising a cotton ginning Plant and Oil mill plant.
Duties and Responsibilities
- To design and develop new production processes and improve existing ones to increase speed, efficiency, and output for cotton ginning Plant and Oil mill plant.
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of factory equipment and machinery to ensure efficient operation.
- Monitor production processes to ensure products meet established quality standards and specifications.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations.
- Analyze production data, identify trends, and generate reports to provide actionable insights to management for strategic decision-making.
- Manage budgets, procurement, and project timelines for engineering projects.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., production, accounting, supply chain) to resolve production issues and ensure seamless workflow.
- Provide technical expertise and training to factory staff.
- Communication and Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present ideas to management.
- Ability to manage time, resources, and projects efficiently.
- The ability to innovate and find novel solutions for production challenges.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering is typically required.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with specific industries, like automotive or injection molding, can be preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification or other industry-specific certifications can be beneficial.
- Proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software and other engineering tools is crucial for design and simulation.
- EXTENSION OFFICER (1 Vacancy)
Nature and scope
The successful candidate will report to the Operations Manager. He/She will be responsible for advising farmers on best practices, troubleshooting farm issues, collecting and analyzing data, transferring technology from researchers to producers and collaborating with other government agencies and stakeholders to promote sustainable agriculture and improve farmers
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice to farmers, businesses, and rural industries on improving crop production, pest and weed control, soil management, and sustainable farming techniques.
- Visit farms to identify and troubleshoot problems with production, diagnose crop diseases, and offer solutions to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Serve as an educator, transferring relevant agricultural technologies and research findings from researchers and institutions to farmers in an effective way.
- Collect and analyze data on produce, soil, feed, and other factors affecting agricultural production to inform advice and decision-making.
- Help farmers organize, access market information, and connect with input suppliers, buyers, and strategic partners to improve marketing and distribution of farm products.
- Monitor agricultural activities, such as cultivation and processing, and prepare field visit reports.
- Facilitate training, learning events, and the development of information materials to enhance the capacity of farmers and other stakeholders.
- Carry out any other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
- Diploma in Agriculture or related field from a government recognized institution;

- DRIVERS (3 Vacancy)
Nature and scope
The successful candidate will report to General Manager He/She will be responsible for operating vehicles to transport goods or passengers, adhering to traffic laws, performing regular vehicle inspections and maintenance, planning efficient routes, loading and unloading, maintaining records, and providing excellent customer service and professionalism.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate the assigned vehicle, following all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections, perform basic maintenance (like checking fluids and tires), and promptly report any malfunctions.
- Keep the vehicle’s interior and exterior clean and presentable.
- Complete required paperwork, such as logs, mileage reports, and incident reports.
- Use GPS, maps, and knowledge of the area to plan the most efficient routes for timely deliveries.
- Follow schedules and timetables while also being able to adapt to traffic and congestion for efficient operations.
- Safely load and unload cargo, luggage, or equipment as required.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and trip details.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and logistics teams.
- Carry out any other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
- Certificate of Competence issued by traffic department (Driving license Class ( E or C1 )
- Secondary Education Certificate (Form IV or VI).
- Certificate in Driving issued by NIT, VETA or any other recognized institution.
- At least five (5) years full time driving experience in a reputable organization
- QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICER (1Vacancy)
Nature and scope
The successful candidate will report to the Factory Engineer. He/She will be responsible for following appropriate laboratory standards as well as controlling the quality of raw materials and finished products, to meet the expectations and objectives of the business.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct product inspections, sample analysis, and quality control checks to ensure products meet specifications and standards.
- Review and approve quality-related documents, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), batch records, validation protocols, and quality reports.
- Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analyses, and support the development of corrective and preventive actions to resolve problems and prevent recurrence.
- Identify areas for improvement in quality systems and processes and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work with other departments and teams, such as production, maintenance, and safety, to address quality issues and ensure best practices.
- Training and supporting staff on quality control procedures.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical and processing Engineer, Industrial chemistry, food science, Quality Assurance / management Engineering or related degree.
- At least three (3) years of experience from a reputable organization
- Certified Quality Assurance Professional (CQAP)
- ISO Certified (Quality Management).
